About
NATALIE
Counsellor
MA Counselling, Grad. Dip of Counselling, BA Psych. Sciences, Cert IV Mental Health
My name is Natalie and I am a lived-experience counsellor, registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I hold a warm and empathic space for clients to connect with some of their most difficult experiences. In doing so, clients find an ability to process, heal, and make meaningful change. I believe that we all hold the capacity to live peacefully and confidently. My approach is guided by evidence-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Coherence Therapy, that are designed to achieve lasting positive effects.

Developing connection and trust with my clients is the first step in the process of healing. I often work with clients who face challenges with trauma, mood concerns, and relationship issues. Our sessions are always led by you. In our first session together we would get to know each other, identify what has been challenging, as well as what you would like to experience more of in your life. As our sessions continue, you may notice fresh insights, clarity, and develop a newfound confidence.

When not in the counselling space, I love to practice yoga, dance, and make art. My favourite place in the world is the rainforest area of northern NSW or in the desert (of course, with my fur babies Frankie and Millie). :)
What makes Inner Wisdom stand out?

Trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy (Level 1) and Coherence Therapy, Natalie implements experiential techniques that go beyond traditional talk therapy.

These models engage the brain's natural memory reconsolidation process. Memory reconsolidation allows for rapid transformation of traumatic memories, thereby dissolving symptoms such as anxiety, people pleasing, self-sabotage, and depression (to name a few). For some, this change happens more effectively with experiential approaches than with other styles of talk therapy.

Acknowledgement
I respectfully acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands and waters we are fortunate to share. I pay deep respect to Elders past, present, and emerging, and honour the world’s oldest living culture. I also recognise the enduring impact of colonization and that sovereignty was never ceded. This land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

I celebrate the richness of diversity in our community and recognise that there is still important work to be done to truly honour and inclusively embrace people of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, abilities, religions, faiths, and beliefs.
