WHAT IS YOUR POLICY AROUND LATE ATTENDANCE AND CANCELLATION?

Late Attendance

  • Should you be running late to attend a session please call or SMS to advise of your expected time of arrival.

  • If you arrive late (within 15 minutes of booking time) the session will still need to conclude at the original time. Due to the impact on following client sessions, your session time cannot be extended to allow for late arrival after 15 minutes.

  • If late arrival is over 15 minutes, the session will be forfeited due to insufficient time remaining. As part of ethical counselling practice, sufficient time should be allowed to safely open and close issues discussed in the session, so to minimise any risk of psychological harm occurring.

The full fee of the session will be charged in all late attendance circumstances within 15 minutes.

Non-attendance without notice will incur the full session fee. Cancellation within 24-hour window will incur a $50 fee.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to postpone or cancel an appointment, please provide 24 hours notice. Late cancellation (less that 24 hours) will result in a $50 cancellation fee. Should there be extenuating circumstances, please contact the practice to discuss. Cancellation requests may be left on the Inner Wisdom Therapeutic Counselling phone message bank if we are unable to take your call. Session reminders will be sent 48 hours prior to session to allow ample time for cancellation if required.

In the unlikely event of the therapist cancelling, at least 24 hour notice will be provided, and an alternative appointment time will be offered. The therapist will contact you to discuss re-arrangement of an imminent appointment.

Acknowledgement

I respectfully acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands and waters we are fortunate to share. I pay deep respect to Elders past, present, and emerging, and honour the world’s oldest living culture. I also recognise the enduring impact of colonization and that sovereignty was never ceded. This land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

I celebrate the richness of diversity in our community and recognise that there is still important work to be done to truly honour and inclusively embrace people of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, abilities, religions, faiths, and beliefs.
